Here are a couple of very simple, affordable home remedies to keep seasonal pests away:
Keep bees and wasps from your outdoor space by hanging paper bags filled with air to mimic a hive signaling “this space already occupied”.
Keep ants away by dissolving 1 cup white sugar and 8 or 10 teaspoons of borax in 1 cup boiling water. The sugar attracts the ants; the borax kills the ants and eventually the whole colony when they take it back to feed. Spread the mixture (a paste) around areas where you see the ants entering your home, yard or garden.
